Song Box (www.york-songbox.co.uk) is a local, independent musical play activity, serving York families since 1994. We offer small friendly sessions for 0-4 year olds with their Mum, Dad or carer in many venues all over York. In our groups siblings come to the same session. The price is per family, not per child (£4.50 per family or £2.25 for families with a low household income).
Our team of skilled musical play leaders provide carefully structured 1hr sessions introducing children and adults to all the fun of live musical play and the great benefits it can offer to children's physical, social, emotional, language and cognitive development. Song Box's founder, Thea Jacob MA(Oxon), also provides musical play sessions and training for City of York Council and many other partners in and around York.
As well as our regular weekly sessions we have visits from musicians showing the children many types of instruments; we provide unique musical outings to many local attractions; and we offer our Song Box children personalised birthday sessions at their own venue.
Our sessions encourage families to enjoy music and singing where ever they are.
