Clements Hall is a valuable resource for the whole community, offering affordable rooms to hire for everything from parent-and-baby groups, yoga and dog training to arts and crafts classes, private counselling spaces and study groups.
The main hall is ideal not only for birthday and wedding reception parties but also fundraising events, crafts sales, rehearsals, presentations and performances. If you require somewhere for meetings, training courses or conferences, all three of our rooms are fully equipped with projection facilities and wifi, and we can also provide hot and cold refreshments and buffet lunches.
The Hall is home to an increasing number of community groups and projects. Among its regular users are the Clements Hall Local History Group, the Nunnery Lane Area Residents Association, the Micklegate Planning Panel, and it is also the polling station for local, national and European elections.
Clements Hall re-opened after extensive refurbishment in 2010, largely funded by the Office of the Third Sector, part of the Cabinet Office, as part of the Community Assets Transfer Programme. It is a listed building and is available to hire 7 days a week, though it is only staffed on weekdays during the day.
We welcome everyone from the local community to get involved in the ownership and running of the organisation. A small annual subscription (£6 for individuals, £10 for voluntary sector organisations, £20 for public/private sector organisations) gives members the right to attend General Meetings, elect the Trustees, and help formulate how the Hall can best serve its community.
While Clements Hall is an unfunded registered charity, its dedicated team of staff, trustees and volunteers offers an excellent professional service, a friendly welcome and a relaxed atmosphere for your pleasure or business.
